Ed Steed is the greatest!
The drawing style and the surreal humor are both a win! I wish I was that imaginative.
Since I knew I'd be away in August I did not even plant a vegetable garden last yea. I did plant the typical assortment of annuals, which amazingly mostly survived.
This year's up and down temperatures are driving me crazy and I'm really itching to get out there. I SUPPOSE after today's round of severe weather summer will begin and me and my red wheelbarrow can get to it.
I just heard on the weather forecast today that there isn't much possibility of any further below freezing temps, so the antsy gardeners can start to have at it.
I don't have the space or sun for veggies. I grow a few herbs on my patio and call it a day.
Gotta love an intelligent lady. Beautiful picture
Not my picture, of course, but I hope the real life ones grow up to be as pretty!
Cosmos are lovely and a nice backdrop for smaller fuller greens. No pics for 60 pages....Yikes. They really are encouraging browsing in person. Many plant sales this weekend, they always plan for moms day weekend. Cant wait to see your picks !~
The online catalog has pictures. I'm honestly not sure why they even bother with the newsprint one, although seeing it on my dining room table DID spur me to go online and start making my list.
This just reaffirms my thinking that I'm not a poetry "getter."
Me neither. Hugs!
I like poetry, but I've never read the poem until now!
OK, that makes me feel better. I thought it was because I'm not very knowledgable about poetry.
Even reading the poem...and understanding some poetry...the cartoon still makes no sense to me.
There were cosmos in my garden growing up. Tall, pretty and perennial!
Well, it looks like they're planning a heist - I'm sure they need the red wheel barrow to carry the goods away!!
Your cosmos must have self seeded to create new volunteers. Always a plus!
That flower is so pretty! Make sure you have enough yard to plant everything you bought ๐
That's a good caution. I mostly buy herbs and annuals at this point. They get planted around my patio and in scattered plant pots.
I've not come across The Red Wheelbarrow poem before. Initially I thought it was an Alice's Adventures in Wonderland reference.
Red Queen...red wheelbarrow... let's call the whole thing off (did you get my musical reference?)
@smartasswoman I'm afraid I didn't.
@spunkycumfun
@smartasswoman The song was before my time, I say lamely!
